Dr. Jeffrey Mensah is in his first, of a three-year fellowship with Associates of Integrative Medicine in Michigan in supportive care oncology. He completed his doctorate in nutrition and natural medicine and his family medicine residency at National University of Health Sciences in Illinois with a special interest in Men’s Health. Mensah was one of a handful of graduates nationwide to be accepted to fellowship in integrative oncology. He is experienced in all areas of Men’s Health. Following fellowship, in partnership with urology in Michigan, he intends to sub-specialize in prostate health and survivorship.

Dr. Mensah was initially drawn to natural medicine by witnessing profound recovery in patients using novel and leading edge natural therapies to heal from the inside out. As a doctor, these experiences inspired him to be intentional about combining natural and conventional medicine to bring people individualized, evidence-based, comprehensive, holistic care.

Dr. Mensah served as an editor on numerous peer reviewed journal articles and has written for the peer reviewed journals in integrative medicine. He served as an editor for national conference materials for the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians on sexual dysfunction in a cancer population.

Mensah currently serves on the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners, writing and reviewing exam questions for the Naturopathic Physicians’ Licensing Examinations. In Michigan, he has taught patient groups at Gilda’s Club, Michigan Alliance of Ovarian Cancer and the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, on metabolic contributors, nutrition, cardio oncology, sleep and stress in cancer care.

Dr. Mensah believes in empowering patients through education, understanding that it improves the quality of care and creates more positive outcomes in a patient’s journey with their health. Dr. Mensah is always willing to “go the distance” with patients to explain their diagnosis, treatment, and options to equip them to make well-informed decisions for their health.

Dr. Mensah also serves on the National Association of Black Naturopathic Physicians, an organization devoted to supporting physicians, medical students, and communities of color engaging healthcare. Dr. Mensah can be reached at dr.mensah@aimnatural.com.
